Welcome to my Fifth Grade Class! Please welcome our newest team member, Mrs. Lewis and welcome back to Mrs. McGillivray.  As a new team, we have switched things up a bit. All three of us will be teaching our homeroom classes reading and writing. We will be integrating science and social studies into these areas whenever possible. To maximize instructional time, we are using a Walk to Math model, so my class, Mrs. Lewis' class, and Mrs. McGillivray's class will be blended during math instruction. Mrs. Lewis will also be teaching a Tech/Art section, Mrs. McGillivray will be teaching Social Studies, and I will be rounding it out with Science. Our rotations will take place at the end of the school day, so please try not to take your child out of school early.  This last learning block will prepare our fifth graders for the middle school (only a year away, YIKES!). A little more about Ms. Z.....
Besides teaching fifth grade, some of my favorite things are: exploring nature and looking for wildlife, farming, reading non-fiction books, telling jokes and stories, making music, and spending time with friends and family. My favorite foods are cheese, apples, bread, and potatoes. My favorite drinks (besides plain old H​2​O) are coffee, coconut water, and beet kvass.
