Homework

*Important note! By the end of the year, all students with 85% or better homework completion will be invited to a very special event!

Reading

Your student's homework is to read 5 nights a week for at least 30 minutes. They will need to record the amount of time they read on the monthly calendar provided and complete the back regarding AR and book information. PARENTS must sign and date each calendar for your student to receive credit.

Math

Math homework pages will vary but often will occur daily. Math homework is due back the following day it is given. If no math page is given, then online practice (see below for options) or paper and pencil fact practice is assigned.

Other important information about math: At least 20 minutes of focused homework practice is required. We use two main online programs to enhance our math instruction. If there is no paper for homework or the page seems too challenging, try these instead!

XtraMath is a great tool for helping students become fluent in multiplication facts. They can do this from any device using a web browser. Here's the link: https://xtramath.org/#/home/index

For home use, you will need to register for access to their school account. Ask me for the instructions! kdaniels@nkschools.org
