Daily Schedule - School hours 9:20—3:50. Attendance is very important! Most of what we learn is in class and cannot be easily made up.  Your child will work on reading, writing, math and word study daily.

Homework- We believe fourth graders need to learn skills and study habits in order to be successful during their years at the middle school and beyond, however we also valuable family time.  Please help your child find a place and time to complete homework.  Nightly homework is reading for 30 minutes from their AR books and 20 minutes of math practice. Your child will record homework assignments in their yellow calendar located in their black homework folders.

Adjusted homework requirements -updated 9/28/16

Family time is important and we find that sometimes homework can take away from it on weekdays so I have made some adjustments to hopefully help find more family time.

Students still need to try to read and do math nightly but on nights were the time is not there

  • reading can be 15-30min (record time and parent initial on yellow calendars)
  • math work sheets –I will have students circle the most important problems they need to complete first. If more time allows they can complete only odds or evens number problems or just complete homework side. Also math sheets can be turned in when finished. I will take them up until the end of the unit of studying.
  • IXL -if you are not home IXL is able to run in an app. do 15-20 minutes of that and just document it on the math sheet or yellow calendar.

All of the above options will count towards the homework challenge. I am trusting students to not abuse the adjustments just due to the fact that they don’t want to complete homework.

Snacks - Students are encouraged to bring water bottles to school.  Please have them marked with your child’s name.  Our lunch is at 12:15, so students may bring a HEALTHY snack for the morning if needed.

Friday Folders - In an effort to have weekly communication between home and school, their red Wolfle folder will be sent home on Fridays. It will contain your child’s graded work, school announcements, and any comments about your child’s work or behavior.  Please return the folder to school the following school day.

Transportation— If your child is going home a different way other than their daily arrangements, you must send in a note or message me. I do not provide time for students to call home during class time to make arrangements.

Book Orders—  Once a month, I will send home Scholastic book orders in the Friday Folders. These will be due back by the following Friday. Book orders are a great way to encourage your child to read!

Birthdays-   Our time in the classroom is very limited so we ask that birthday celebrations be done on the last Friday of your child's birthday month. If you child wishes to hand out invitations they need to do that on their own time.

Communication- We will communicate with you all year and encourage you to do the same.  We welcome calls, notes, messages, and visits.  If you have any concerns, comments, or questions please contact us at the following:
