Title 1

The Title I program addresses the needs of low-achieving children and those at risk of not meeting state student academic achievement standards. In our schoolwide program, we consolidate federal, state, and local funds to best support student learning.

Assessment and Achievement Data:

David Wolfle Elementary provides information on each assessment required by the state and North Kitsap Schools, along with our progress towards mastery of those assessments. We do this through several avenues:

  1. We present to the school board every year: Wolfle 24-25 School Board Presentation.
  2. We share individual student data at our fall and spring conferences.

The state report card also provides assessment information.

Annual Event:

Our annual event was held on October 23rd, 2024. Parents engaged with their students in STEAM activities to better understand what kinds of activities they can do at home to support student learning.

Compact

WOLFLE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Family and School Compact 2024-25

Wolfle is fortunate to be identified as a Title 1 School. Because of this designation, we receive additional federal funds to support student learning.

Wolfle is supported by the Learning Assistance Program (LAP), a state-funded program that targets literacy skills. In addition, Title funding provides Math support. Students qualifying for these programs are selected based on their DIBELS and i-Ready test results, various classroom diagnostic assessments, and teacher recommendations.

Our support staff works closely with classroom teachers to promote student achievement. At our fall parent conferences, we will provide student results toward grade level proficiency, share interventions provided by the school, and suggest what parents can do at home. We know that a strong partnership between school and home leads to greater academic achievement and success. We look forward to continuing this partnership at conferences and throughout the year.

This compact is an agreement that the school and home will work together to provide a climate that will enable students to succeed.  We understand that families may already be giving multiple supports listed below, but we want to reiterate the importance families play in providing the following support to their child.

The school agrees to:

  • Provide a welcoming environment that allows for safe and positive learning
  • Communicate regularly
  • Provide a variety of activities to learn the skills needed
  • Provide a student's electronic report card
  • Provide instruction by highly qualified certificated and classified staff
  • Use scientifically research-based instructional materials and programs

Home is encouraged to:

  • Encourage the child’s efforts
  • Assist with assignments
  • Provide a time for schoolwork
  • Provide learning opportunities for my child (going to the library, cooking, art projects)
  • Support to ensure that my child is punctual and attends school regularly

The student is encouraged to:

  • Come to school ready to learn
  • TRY their best
  • Follow school rules: Be Safe, Respectful, Responsible, and Kind
  • Complete and return assignments
  • Let your family or teacher know if help is needed
